To
View Comments Inserted into Your Word or WordPerfect Document
Whichever version of Word you use to view comments, if any comment has an ellipsis icon, it means there is more of the comment to be viewed:
Click on the ellipsis to view the rest of the comment which will appear in a new column.
If
you are using Word 2008, you should be able to see the comments column
whether the document opens in
Print Layout or Web Layout:
If
you are using Word 2007, you should be able to see the comments column
whether the document opens in
Print Layout or Web Layout:
If
you are using Word 2004, you won't
see comments if the document is in the Normal view. The document must
be in the Print or Online layouts (these are chosen under the
View menu):
If
you are using Word 2003 or Word XP, you won't
see comments if the document is in the Normal view. The document must
be in the Print Layout or the Web Layout (these are chosen under the
View
menu):
If you are using Word v. X or
Word 2000, text
that is commented on will appear highlighted in yellow:
To view the text of each comment, move your pointer over any of the
highlighted areas; the yellow will get darker and a box will pop up
with the comment inside. To see this in action, you can view this video. If the
comments don't appear for you, you can
view them in a separate frame in the document by clicking on Comments
under the View menu:
If you are using WordPerfect
(X3) to view a Word or a WordPerfect document into which comments have been inserted, you
will see WordPerfect's standard Comment balloon icons (with quotation
marks) in the left margin:
Click on a comment icon to view the comment, which will appear in a
yellow dialog balloon over the document whose tip will point to the
position in the text which marks the end of
the passage highlighted and commented on. That is, you won't be
able to tell exactly where the beginning of the text is that this
comment is meant to apply to:
